A chirping sound approximately every 60 seconds typically indicates a low battery or that the unit has reached its end of life. If the red LED flashes at the same time as the chirp, replace the battery or the alarm immediately.
Press and hold the Test/Hush button for at least 5 seconds until the unit sounds. This verifies that the circuitry, horn, and battery are working. Weekly testing is recommended.
