The Sovol Flexible Steel Build Plate is a dual-sided printing surface designed to enhance your 3D printing experience. It features a textured PEI surface on one side and a build surface sticker on the other, providing versatile options for various filament types. This system includes a magnetic base for easy installation and removal, ensuring strong adhesion during printing and effortless print release once cooled. This manual provides essential information for the proper setup, operation, and maintenance of your build plate.

Your Sovol Flexible Steel Build Plate system consists of three main parts:

  1. Flexible Steel Plate: This is the primary printing surface, featuring a textured PEI coating on one side and a build surface sticker on the other. It is designed to flex for easy print removal.

  3. Build Surface Sticker: The second printing surface, pre-applied to one side of the flexible steel plate.

3. Танзим ва насб

Follow these steps to install your new flexible steel build plate:

  1. Prepare the Heated Bed: Ensure your 3D printer's heated bed is clean and free of any debris or old adhesive.
  2. Apply Magnetic Base: Carefully peel the protective backing from the adhesive side of the magnetic bottom sheet. Align it precisely with your heated bed and firmly press it down, working from one edge to the other to avoid air bubbles.
  3. Place Flexible Steel Plate: Once the magnetic base is securely attached, place the flexible steel plate onto it. Choose the desired printing surface (textured PEI or build surface sticker) facing upwards. The magnetic force will hold it in place.

Optimal printing results depend on correct settings and handling:

4.1 Filament Compatibility and Temperature Settings

The flexible steel plate offers excellent adhesion for various filaments. Refer to the table below for recommended nozzle and bed temperatures. The maximum temperature for the printing bed is 120℃.

For optimal adhesion with PLA, a heated bed temperature of approximately 60℃ is recommended. For PETG, a bed temperature of 80-85℃ is generally effective.

4.2 Print Removal

Prints are designed to release easily from the surface once the heated bed has cooled to room temperature. If a print remains difficult to remove, gently flexing the steel plate will assist in detaching the model. The plate features a double handle design for easy removal from the magnetic base.

Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and performance of your build plate:

  • Warping or Poor First Layer Adhesion:
    • Check your heated bed temperature settings.
    • Ensure your printer's environment is stable and free from drafts, which can cause uneven cooling.
    • For some materials like ABS, disabling the cooling fan for the first few layers can improve adhesion.
