Regular descaling extends the life of your machine. Ascaso recommends descaling monthly if you brew more than 10 coffees a day, every 2 months for 5–10 coffees, and every 3 months for fewer than 5 coffees a day.
If the tank has been emptied or the machine has not been used for a while, you may need to prime the circuit. Turn on the steam tap and release water through the steam wand to fill the system.
Wash the mobile filter holder with hot water and neutral soap (do not use a dishwasher). The top shower head should be cleaned after every 80 to 100 espressos to remove coffee residue.
Ensure the filter holder is always fitted in the machine to keep it warm. If using a PID model, you can check and increase the pre-set temperature in the settings menu.
